Installing OSM-Maps on a Garmin-GPS device

raumbezug gives you nearly actual and routeable OSM-Maps for Garmin-GPS devices. These Maps are based on OSM-Data extracts made by the company externer LinkGeofabrik and converted to Garmin img-format with externer Linkmkgmap

How it works:

  1. Download an gmapsupp.img File of your choice.
  2. Unzip this file to your pc.
  3. Connect your GPS as removeable storage with your pc.
  4. Copy the File to the [Garmin] or [Maps] Directory of your external Storage of your GPS.

Hint (17.06.2016):
From now on you can get a ready compiled installer (*.exe) for german federal countries as well as european, african and asian countries. If you are using these files, you can ignore the items 2 - 4.

  1. Download a file of your choice with "Nsis-Installer" or "Exe-Datei" in it's name.
  2. Install the program externer LinkNSIS.
  3. Unzip the file on your pc
  4. Right-click on the file with the suffix *.nsi then click on "Compile NSIS Script".
  5. Start the generated exe-file
  6. Open Mapsource/Basecamp, activate the map an transfer it to your GPS.
